Our training covers topics such as; understanding behaviours, identifying triggers, implementing replacement behaviours, the importance of a collaborative approach, understanding disabilities, and preventative strategies. We also guide the creation of Behavioru Support Plans (BSP’s) and Individualised Education Programs (IEPs).
Additionally, Active Art offers team-building and professional development for schools and organisations, along with staff Art Therapy tailored to the specific needs of each group.
Active Art School Well-Being Programs
Active Art is developing a comprehensive school wellbeing and resilience program, spanning from Prep to Year 12, that addresses the real-life challenges and daily questions and struggles faced by our youth. This program goes beyond surface-level discussions and delves into the core issues affecting students, providing them with a safe and supportive environment to express themselves.
Through the integration of tailored art-based activities, our program offers students a unique opportunity to explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences creatively. By engaging in these activities, students are offered more tools to communicate, build self-awareness, and develop essential self-regulation and coping strategies.
Recognising the importance of a unified approach, our program also includes training for teachers and parents. This training ensures that everyone involved in the students' lives is equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to reinforce the same wellbeing messages. By promoting consistency across all stakeholders, we can create a cohesive support system for the students, fostering a positive and resilient school and broader community.
Through art-based activities, open dialogue, and comprehensive training that can be adapted to suit individual schools, we aim to empower students, teachers, and parents alike to navigate and overcome the obstacles that arise, fostering a culture of wellbeing, empathy and resilience.
